Greetings.
Here on this website, you could find out more about the Hong Kong Society of Hyperbaric Medicine. Our Society has been established since 28 April 2023 under the Societies Ordinance (Section 5A(1), CAP 151).
Our mission is to promote proper hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in Hong Kong, and offer this internationally recognized medical treatment to all local patients who stand to benefit from it. HBOT involves the patients’ entire body placed inside a hard sided pressure chamber constructed to international standards. Treatment pressure should not be less than 2.0 ATA (~200kPa) and medical grade oxygen should be used. The duration of treatment is typically between 90 to 120 minutes per treatment.
The core function of the society is the establishment of standards and guidelines related to the practice of HBOT, as well as the provision of continued education to current and future HBOT healthcare professionals. We strive to represent the collective views and concerns of front-line professionals, and advocate for the holistic advancement of the field.
We owe the success of our Society to the unwavering support from our local HBOT community, and hope you will join us in our quest for excellence and continued progress in the field of Hyperbaric Medicine.
